Laurie Burton

Laurie A. Burton is on the faculty at the University of Southern California School of Cinema/Television. She teaches filmmakers and directors, in both graduate and undergraduate programs, how to work with actors and to develop their communication skills to improve their personal and professional effectiveness.

Laurie enjoys international recognition as one of the innovators in redefining the way people present themselves and thus providing the key to the art of expressive communication. She has worked extensively with thousands of individuals in her seminars and with dozens of Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, Mattel Toys, Digital Equipment, Merrill Lynch, ITT and, most recently, Twentieth Century Fox. She has helped people at all levels break through corporate communication barriers to establish a fresh and revolutionary new way to train people. Laurie has created the opportunity for people to overcome self-imposed limitations. Her breakthrough techniques teach the art of expressive communication in an enjoyable and accessible way. Through Laurie’s work, people enhance and strengthen their personal and professional lives and build newly energized, affirming and honest relationships with others.

A 30-year veteran performer of film, television and theater, she is a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, in Communications and Drama. Laurie has appeared in numerous TV shows including starring and guest roles. She has brought the wealth and breadth of her experience to bear in creating a place for people to improve the way in which they communicate and interact with others. This is the basis of Laurie’s work and of Image Development Company. She has refined a multitude of exercises that address the needs of people looking at redefining not who they are but rather how they express who they are and how they come across.

Using techniques adapted from her acting experience she shows people that they can choose how to express themselves, freeing them from the feeling that they are powerless to alter their lives. Her techniques have been proven to generate dramatic results in an amazingly short time.

In Laurie’s view, this work is critical. She sees it as a key to unlocking the deadness in people’s lives, helping them reclaim the simple joy of being alive and in relationship. Laurie helps people find the connection to their emotional, passionate self. The result is a person who is capable of affecting their own destiny

Daniel Brumer

Dan Brumer has been designing, producing, leading and facilitating workshops, seminars and conferences for over 20 years. He ran a very successful manufacturing business prior to joining Image Development as Laurie A. Burton’s partner in 1984.

Dan has a particularly strong background in intensive workshops, councils and community-building events. He recently completed a year facilitating councils in classes in the Los Angeles Unified School District. His focus and attention to detail mark him as an excellent producer and facilitator. He has demonstrated a high level of skill in working with the nuances and subtleties of people making speeches and presentations. His perceptive eye is balanced with a compassionate heart.

Rhonda Collier

Rhonda Collier has over 15 years’ experience in the creative and communications fields. As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Rhonda sits on the board of the National League of Medical Hypnotherapists, which she was instrumental in founding. Her work in this field has helped people identify and access deeper parts of the self thus bringing a renewed spirit of energy and creativity to the participation in their own lives.

Her experience in front of the camera as an accomplished film and television actress/host has enhanced Rhonda’s innovative contributions to personal communication in the corporate world. She has helped develop ID’s revolutionary approach to the art of personal and professional self-expression.
